Heart To Get surprises classroom

22 September 2015

During the rehearsals of the opera production "Heart To Get" two singers of the production went to see the Spectrum school in Antwerp. Hanne Roos and Charles Dekeyser surprised the students with aria's from the opera. For some students it was the first time that they got to know the genre opera.

I Solisti collects music notes

5 February 2015

In April I Solisti del Vento, Kunsthuis Opera Vlaanderen, Operastudio Vlaanderen and Vrienden Opera Vlaanderen will present the opera production “Heart To Get”, a contemporary love story with the indestructible music of W. A. Mozart.

With this new production I Solisti - as a wind ensemble - would like to praise opera as a music genre and create a production for everyone, from age 14 to 99. Every new opera production starts with a new composition, and I Solisti was pleased to get extra helping hands to complete this task. Via a crowdfunding action the ensemble got dontated a quarter of the financial support that was needed to finalize the composition. The supporters were youngsters as well as adults, private and professional.

The production premieres on April 16 at the Flemish Opera in Antwerp.

25 years of I Solisti del Vento

29 June 2013

I Solisti del Vento took you throughout a kaleidoscopic repertoire last season. And also this time the ensemble treats you to a very special season. In 2013 I Solisti celebrates its 25th anniversary!

As 'Die Harmonie' the ensemble played its first concert in 1988. A quarter of a century later much has changed. From a modest and local dixtuor the ensemble grew into a collective of 25 musicians, all with international allure. It had become a close group of top musicians that garantueed approximately 50 concerts a year, in its own country as well as abroad, in small and large venues.

The ensemble has a unique and leading position in the Flemish music scene. Therefore I would like to thank everyone for the collaboration and trust: all of the artists, administration staff, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, cultural and educational institutions and in particular the Flemish Government.

On to the next 25 years! With new challenges and objectives, and hopefully again with lots of creativity and energy!

Etienne Siebens 'artist in residence'
18 February 2011

After a few busy months with concerts at deSingel Antwerpen, Bozar Brussels, Handelsbeurs Gent, Concertgebouw Brugge, Paris, Bremen, Lincoln Center New York,... I Solisti del Vento has, now more than ever, growing international ambitions. To encourage this growth and international appeal,  artistic director Francis Pollet decided to surround himself with a number of experts within the field. Therefore Etienne Siebens will be joining the ensemble for the next 3 years as their new 'artist in residence'. Etienne Siebens has been conducting the Prometheus ensemble for many years, he was the principal conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of Flanders, and has been conducting many orchestras and ensembles such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Klangforum Wien and the Asko/Schönberg Ensemble. Within I Solisti del Vento he will be co-designing the artistic discourse, and ascertain the high level of quality orientation. Last but not least, Francis Pollet has empanelled a 'board of artistic counsels' who will reflect on the future and guide the ensemble to more exciting pathways into the future.
