Currently, he is pursuing a bachelor's degree in bassoon / contrabassoon at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Jappe's musical journey began at the tender age of four when he took his first steps on the violin under his mother's tutelage. He soon discovered a wide range of instruments, including percussion, trombone, bassoon, and tuba, leading to successful performances in national and international youth competitions and various youth orchestras.

At the age of 11, Jappe crossed paths with bassoonist Francis Pollet, and from then on, his focus shifted entirely to the bassoon. In November 2017, Jappe achieved laureate status at the "Prix Dominique" in Venlo, where he also garnered the audience award. In April 2018, he secured the First Prize in the international online competition "The Muse." Subsequently, Jappe made solo appearances with orchestras, showcasing concerti by esteemed composers such as A. Vivaldi, W.A. Mozart, and C.M. von Weber.

In March 2019, he gained a spot in the international youth orchestra of the Concertgebouworkest, participating in an intensive training program and performing at prestigious venues like the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Flagey Brussels, alongside 72 other talented musicians from all over Europe. Then, in March 2020, Jappe's musical journey led him to the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra.
